It’s times like these that we can’t help but daydream about our spring break adventures in the Bahamas. Last week, we traveled to Nassau with 6 of our best friends and had the absolute best time. We chose to stay at the Melia All-Inclusive Resort because it was, quite frankly, the most budget-friendly option for us. We were able to secure an amazing Black Friday deal back in November and it was super affordable to stay at the Melia for 6 days and 6 nights. Despite being economical, the resort itself was stunning. They offer three huge pools (including a swim-up bar at the adults pool), several all-inclusive restaurants, and a beautiful private beach area for guests.
We spent most days lounging on the beach in our Alamea suits sipping endless piña coladas and Bahama mamas (our go-to drink for the week which combines coconut rum, grenadine, orange juice, and pineapple juice). We only left the sand to grab lunch which usually took place at the poolside grill. All of the restaurants included in the Melia offered a delicious array of options. We tried every restaurant on the resort and our favorites were Cilantro, which served Mexican cuisine, and Nikkei, dedicated to Asian fusion. When we weren’t sunbathing or eating we were exploring all that Cable Beach had to offer.
There are three major resorts on Cable Beach: the Melia, the Baha Mar, and the Breezes. Breezes offers the classic Spring Break experience with a DJ who hosts day parties by the pool every afternoon. We were not able to attend these parties without a day pass to the resort. Meanwhile, right next door is the iconic Baha Mar which was our destination for nightlife. The Baha Mar boasts a huge casino, several bars (including the luxurious SkyBar which overlooks the entire resort), and the Swimming Pig (a laid back pub where we would often reconvene at the end of the night). We were also lucky to attend a concert one night at the exclusive BOND Nightclub on the Baha Mar premises.
The Baha Mar was truly our home away from home during our stay in the Bahamas. However, the Melia offered the best of both worlds by giving us a spring break experience and a classy resort with clean facilities. A trip to Nassau would not be complete without Señor Frogs. A famous chain of bars, Señor Frogs is the perfect place to spend a night out with friends and we enjoyed every second spent there dancing into the late hours of the night. All in all, the Bahamas was the perfect spring break destination and we know we will be back again.
